Hobhouse and Rowen lead Lib Dem Delegation to Boundary Commission!

Cllr. William Hobhouse, Paul Rowen MP and Manchester Councillor - John Commons lead the Lib Dem Delegation to the Boundary Commission.
Rochdale Lib Dems led the way at a special meeting of the Boundary Commission at Manchester Town Hall. Bamford Councillor, William Hobhouse was joined by Rochdale's MP - Paul Rowen speaking up to keep Bamford in the Rochdale Parliamentary Constituency.
Cllr. William Hobhouse handed hundreds of completed surveys, following his extensive consultation of local residents. Cllr. William Hobhouse said, "I was proud of the huge effort residents made in returning their views. I was astonished by the amount of people who took part. I can assure them that their views have been submitted to the Boundary Commission. I canvassed across the Bamford Ward and the overwhelming verdict from residents was that they wanted to be represented by an MP from Rochdale."
The Boundary Commission also received representations from the Rochdale Conservative Party asking that Bamford goes entirely into Heywood and Middleton. Rochdale's MP - Paul Rowen said to the meeting, "It is quite clear from Cllr. Hobhouse's consultation that the people of Bamford wish to be represented by a Rochdale MP. The local Conservative Party are out of touch with local opinion. It is high time that they started doing their job and listening to the people they represent! The consultation from William is a lesson to any aspiring politician that anyone in public office should listen first and then act!"
The Boundary Commission are due to report early in the New Year.
