Lib Dem Leadership Contender Chris Huhne MP brings his campaign to be the next Leader of the Liberal Democrats to Greater Manchester this Friday afternoon (10th February) Chris will meet members and activists from Rochdale, Heywood and Middleton and Oldham East and Saddleworth on a lengthy visit.
Chris will visit the Rochdale Lib Dem HQ at 144, Drake Street at 2.30pm before visiting a number of sites and members in Rochdale including Sir Cyril Smith MBE. Chris will then visit Newhey Train Station where he will meet local Councillors and Members to discuss local transport. He will then board the 5.36pm train from Newhey to Manchester Victoria before catching the Metrolink to Manchester Piccadilly.
Chris Huhne MP said, "I am looking forward to visiting the members from Rochdale and Oldham. The areas have such a Liberal Tradition and have and will continue to play a major role in the future of the Liberal Democrats."
Local Rochdale MP - Paul Rowen said, "We look forward to discussing some of the major issues affecting Rochdale with Chris. These include the fight against potential cuts at Rochdale Infirmary. We will also be looking at public transport that has been ignored by this Government for far too long."
