Rochdale Lib Dems launch Online Leadership Poll!

2.35.58pm GMT Tue 21st Feb 2006

Rochdale MP - Paul Rowen has launched an Online Poll to help identify who Rochdale people would like to see as the next Leader of the Liberal Democrats. Paul said, "I think that as MP it is vital to listen to Constituents over who they believe would be the best Leader of our Party. Charles Kennedy was an excellent Leader who took great interest in Rochdale - I will be asking each candidate what they will be doing for areas such as Rochdale and will certainly take notice of the results of my poll. People can log onto www.rochdalelibdems.org.uk and simply click on who they feel will best represent our party."

The 4 Candidates are: Sir Menzies Campbell, Simon Hughes, Chris Huhne and Mark Oaten. Paul Rowen MP, "I have known all the candidates for many years now and I feel that anyone of them have the talent and capability of moving the party forward. Although Party Members from across the Borough are upset about the recent treatment of Charles Kennedy - I know that they know want to move on and are looking for an informed debate on the future of the Liberal Democrats."
