Sanction those promoting illegal settlements in Gaza

Liberal Democrats MP, Christine Jardine, has again called for the UK to sanction those engaged in promoting the illegal settlements in Gaza.

Speaking in the House of Commons debate on 19th March, Christine asked "Does the Minister accept that one of the biggest barriers to peace is illegal Israeli settlement in the west bank?"

She went on to press that "Recently, there were sanctions against four Israeli settlers who had committed human rights abuses against Palestinians. The Liberal Democrats hope that that is just the start. Will the UK Government consider sanctioning Ministers Ben-Gvir and Smotrich, who promote that extremist agenda, and all the settler movements connected to them in a way that finally makes a difference to what is happening?"
