CLLR PRESENTS CLUB WITH NEW KIT

6 Jun 2012

Kirkholt Cllr Dale Mulgrew popped by the Kirkholt bowling club recently to present the members of the veterans team with new fleece jackets.

At the start of this season the club received sponsorship to the tune of £250 from the Wynsors shoes retail group. With this grant the club decided to kit out their veterans team with new fleece jackets.

This sponsorship package from Wynsors is in year two of a three year deal. Last year the Kirkholt bowling club received a similar amount which they spent on new fleeces for their ladies team. And next year's sponsorship is down to be spent on new kit for the Club's first team.

Club president Pete Metcalf welcomed the sponsorship and said, 'I am grateful to Wynsors for the grant they have provided to the club. This allowed us to buy some more jackets for another one of our teams, so that we all look the part and all feel part of the same unit.'

'I must also recognise the role that our Club Secretary Steve Morris has played in arranging this sponsorship deal with Wynsors. The club owes him a debt of gratitude for his hard work on this front.'

Club Secretary - Steve Morris who arranged this award said, 'I was thrilled the Club has been on the receiving end of this grant. I am also happy that Cllr Dale Mulgrew was able to join us in officially launching this new kit at the beginning of the bowling season.'

Kirkholt Cllr Dale Mulgrew added, 'it was great to see the Kirkholt bowling club receive this financial assistance from Wynsors, who are a firm based in nearby Bacup and are bucking the current trend and expanding their business.'

'Given Rochdale can get a bit chilly at times, even in the summer, these jackets are a great addition to the team as it will keep them warm and focussed for hopefully another successful season ahead!'
