The situation with Coronavirus is changing all the time - and there are lots of stories out there offering, sometimes conflicting, advice. We've compiled a list of useful advice and information links below, to help you and your loved ones get the answers you need.

Support for vulnerable people:

Rochdale Council has a dedicated helpline, specifically for making sure the most vulnerable people in our borough are getting support. If you need support with things like food and medical supplies, call 01706 923685 or text 07860 022 876. This service is available on Monday-Thursday from 9am to 5pm and Fridays from 9am to 4.30pm. Support for businesses and the self employed:

The Government has now launched an income support scheme for people who are self employed. You can find all the information about how to find out if you are eligible here.

Support with mental health:

This is a very unusual time for everyone and we hope that you and your loved ones are keeping well. If you are finding the current situation overwhelming, please remember you're not alone. There is lots of information and advice out there on mental health support during the current crisis. Public Health England have put together guidance at their website here.

Listed below are just a few of the mental health charities that are available to offer advice and support:

Support with bereavement:

Marie Curie offers a free bereavement support service. Anyone who is grieving can access up to six telephone sessions with a matched volunteer by calling 0800 090 2309. Further details as well as online information and support is available on their website here. Marie Curie are also running a campaign for a National Day of Reflection - you can find out more and back their campaign here.

Online skills:

The Department for Education have set up a free online "Skills Toolkit" during the Coronavirus lockdown. The site is designed to help people build their digital and numeracy skills, which could be useful for work or future job prospects. You can find all the details here.

Dealing with domestic abuse:

Self-isolation is crucial for saving lives but, sadly, it has become a living hell for some. Domestic violence is on the rise, as thousands are forced to stay home with their abusers. If you need support, call Refuge's 24-hour freephone - 0808 2000 247 or online here.

In an emergency always call 999 - followed by 55 if you are unable to speak out loud. More information can be found here.

Reporting breaches of Covid19 guidance:

There is no doubt that most people are taking the current restrictions seriously. Sadly though a small minority are ignoring them. If you have a concern about a breach of the guidance you can report it to the police using their online form here.
