Councillor Jean Ashworth, re-elected in the recent local elections to represent Smallbridge & Firgrove has spoken of how proud she that people have belief in her; she thanked voters and promised to make the ward a good place to live in.
She said: "Can I say a huge thank you to all concerned for voting me back in to represent Smallbridge & Firgrove ward.
"I am pleased and proud that you have believed in me and took the time to either come out to vote or sent a postal vote.
"The one promise I will make to you is to continue to work hard and make our ward a good place to live in, along with my two colleagues Cllr Brenda Kerslake and Cllr Christine Akram.
"We together have made this ward work but only with many thanks to you in every area of this ward for putting your trust in us and making it work - as this ward was only created four years ago
"I have had a roller coaster ride for four years getting to know people and areas, but we are now established as a ward and I am so proud to represent you for the next four years, and hopefully many more.
"As I have always been and always will, I will be available to listen to your problems and help you all year round."
