Dale urges locals to join clean up campaign!
Balderstone and Kirkholt Councillor - Dale Mulgrew has teamed up with Paul Rowen MP, the local community and the Rochdale and Oldham Groundwork Trust to clean up Sudden Brook.
The event - this Sunday, 1st October at 10am - 4pm is set to dramatically improve the environment at Sudden Brook. The team are also looking for ideas on how the community can come together and improve their local area.
Dale said, "I hope that as many local people come to join us - Sudden Brook has the potential to such as asset for local people and I hope that as many people as possible join us. This is not just about improving our area short term but coming up with a long term action plan on how we can continue to improve our environment. We have leafleted the local area asking for volunteers for our litter pick but everyone's welcome. I am delighted that our MP - Paul Rowen has confirmed that he will come, I have told him to bring his wellies and old clothes because we plan to get dirty!"
Chris Spence, the Community Programmes VPA at Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale said, "It's great to see the local community coming together to regenerate Sudden Brook, the event is on all day so if you can't make it early then you are welcome in the afternoon - there's plenty to do!"
