Doreen Brophy-Lee - West Heywood

21 Apr 2006

I came to Heywood some thirty years ago to manage the Gas Showrooms and a lot of the older people will remember me from then with dark hair. I came initially just to work here but I was won over in a few short months by the people I met and decided to move into the community and have stayed here ever since.

I'm not a politician who aims for the heights but an ordinary person who wants to make everyday living better for schools with the best teachers and enough to spend on books, safe places for our teenagers to meet their friends, a safer environment for our old people with rent and council tax they can afford and a council to spend the money wisely in a fair way.

I think if elected I can help and will always be available - after all Heywood is my town too - my home.
