Heywood's hardest working Councillor Peter Rush!

Heywood North Councillor Peter Rush has been successfully appointed to represent the Borough at the North West Employers Organisation. The organisation provides advice, support and consultation to local authorities in order to get the best from their employees.

Speaking about his appointment, Councillor Peter Rush said: "I am delighted to have been chosen to represent the Council, at what is a very important organization, and I would like to thank my fellow colleagues for entrusting me with this role. I will be using my time as the Borough's representative to learn as much as I can so that I can report back some of the good practice that I think we should be looking at implementing ourselves."

Last week Councillor Rush attended the North West Employers Annual Meeting at Bolton's Reebok Stadium alongside more than 100 delegates from different authorities and organisations.

Councillor Rush added: "It was an excellent day and there were a lot of useful presentations on a wide range of issues such as Diversity & Equality and Community Engagement. It is clear to see that the North West is taking a lead in providing opportunities for local employees to learn and be successful and I will be looking at implementing some of these ideas in our Borough."
