Members of the New Life Community Church joined local Councillors Andy Kelly and Irene Davidson to collect a huge amount of rubbish on a community litter pick. The team were joined by local residents to collect 12 sacks of rubbish from the Edmund Street Car Park area including the river. This was just the latest in a series community clean ups in the area.

Councillor Andy Kelly, who was approached by the church to organise the clean up, said: "We had a great turn out and really cleaned up the car park and surrounding areas. One of the great things about being a councillor is working with our community to deliver results for Milnrow, Newhey and Ogden. I would like thank John Oldham from the New Life Community Church for getting in touch."

Councillor Irene Davidson said: "I've taken part in clean ups locally for 25 years and this was one of the most successful. The great weather certainly helped and the community really got stuck in."
