19 Dec 2015

A worrying foam which spread across two rivers in Rochdale is being investigated by the Environment Agency. The foam, which spread across the River Beal and River Roch has not yet been identified, and any residents who may have relevant information are encouraged to call 0800 807060.

Milnrow and Newhey councillor Andy Kelly said: "I am worried for the wildlife in the River Beal. It has been flourishing over the last five years, it's been doing really well, with fish and herons. I hope this foam hasn't killed anything."

A full report on the incident is available on the Manchester Evening News website.
