Rochdale Feel Good Festival to Return

10 Mar 2010

Following the massive success of last year's Feel Good Festival, Rochdale Council are pleased to announce that it will be returning to the town. Last year's Feel Good Festival was a massive success with live music, fresh food and entertainment for all the family.

This year's festival, which will take place in August, will be delivered by the Town Centre Management Team with support from the Council's Marketing Team Rochdale Council agreed that funding for 2010's Festival will come from Regeneration monies rather than from Rochdale Township.

Rochdale councillors Andrew Abbott and Angela Coric, Chair and Vice Chair of Rochdale Township agreed that this was excellent news. On hearing the news, Councillor Coric commented,

"The Feel Good Festival last year was a very positive event for Rochdale and I know from the comments I received whilst out and about that weekend in the Town Centre, how much people enjoyed the event.

I welcome the good news that we are to repeat this event and the fact that monies for it are coming from another source will also mean Rochdale Township can use the spare money for other activities."

Chair of Rochdale Township, Councillor Andrew Abbott, added,

"This is a great opportunity to support our town centre's economy. The event will be bigger and better this year and I would like to see its appeal widened to attract more people."

Paul Rowen, MP for Rochdale, said:

"Last year's Feel Good Festival was absolutely wonderful and I am so pleased that the Festival will be returning this year. I hope that it will be ever bigger and better than before and will encourage all Rochdalians to come and take part."
