Littleborough Lakeside Councillor has welcomed the news that the extra to improve security at Littleborough Railway Station. The improvements, due to by ratified by Transport bosses next month will see CCTV and a look at the lack of disabled access at the station.

Paul Rowen MP said, "I welcome this news that will delight campaigners in Littleborough. It is imperative if we are to improve the number of people using the station that passengers are made to feel safe. I would be writing to the Passenger Transport Authority outlining Littleborough Railway Station good case for improved security including CCTV and also repeating my call for disabled access. I know that Councillor Rosemary Jones will be pleased that action is now being taken to improve conditions at the station - part of the reason was the high usage of the station. With the improvements we have called for and look like being done - it clear that patronage can only rise at the station. The next move is to get more carriages at Peak Times and I will continuing to liaise with the North West Regional Development Agency, Northern Rail and the GMPTE to improve the cattle like conditions on our trains."
