The Big Clean Begins!

24 Feb 2010

Rochdale Borough Council and the Rochdale Observer are pleased to announce the return of The Big Clean. The Big Clean is a massive clean up campaign that takes place across the Borough. The Council has set aside £100,000 to tidy up the Borough and following your suggestions has come up with a list of locations.

Leader of the Council Irene Davidson said,

"Thank you to everybody who has sent in their ideas and suggestions for places that could be spruced up. We received a great response from the public and it was wonderful to see people getting so involved."

Portfolio Holder for Environment and Sustainability, Pauline Maguire, added,

"The final list of areas for The Big Clean has been decided and I am so pleased for those who recommended the successful suggestions.

However, if your idea has not made the final list then don't worry; the Council is planning on looking at all the nominations and working with the relevant teams, like bin collections and planning, to ensure that they are dealt with in due course. "
