FOCUS ON CYCLING
Public cycle and pathway maintenance
Cycle Route 92, connecting Skye to Whitworth via the breathtaking Healey Dell Nature Reserve, is a cherished gem for our local community. Loved by cyclists and pedestrians alike, this route offers a scenic escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. However, we must address an issue that plagues this otherwise remarkable path: its deteriorating condition in certain areas.
The route can be a true sanctuary for those seeking tranquility and exercise. However, the experience can be marred by the pathway's poor condition, particularly during and after rainfall. The route's susceptibility to flooding and mud accumulation transforms this scenic journey into an inaccessible, messy ordeal.
Andy Lord told Focus, "We know how important exercise and recreation are in our busy lives, and believe it's important to keep our community spaces in top shape. That's why we're committed to advocating for the repair and maintenance of Cycle Route 92 to a reasonable standard so it is passable irrespective of the weather."
