FOCUS ON FORUMS

Rochdale’s Labour bosses have recently passed through council that they will be getting rid of the local area forums which were set up by the Liberal Democrats to ensure that residents can meet
councillors and service providers and be aware of and consulted on what is happening withing their area.

Zulfiqar Ali says that by putting and end to area forums you are putting a stop to peoples voices and their opinions. People see these area forums as a method to express their voices and share their opinions of what matters to them and their ward.

Zulfiqar said “If elected I promise that I will fight to ensure that these area forums are kept in Smallbridge and Firgrove and that the current Labour Council is held accountable for the decisions that they make.“

“I have been speaking with residents whom tell me that they are fuming that the Labour Council and their elected Labour representatives are making this decision without informing local residents and without taking their opinions into consideration.”
