Barbara Guisborne-Hilton - West Middleton

21 Apr 2006

Age 48, married with five children and I am now a proud grandparent (I don't feel that old). I was educated at Tytherington High School for Girls in Macclesfield.

I have been involved in local groups intermittently whilst raising my children and holding down part time work. I became ill in 1991 and had to take it easy for a while, not easy for someone like me.

In 2003 I developed a new zest for life and I became politically aware. I have been involved in voluntary work; the NSPCC; Rochdale Boroughwide Housing and most recently campaigning for my local community.

I feel people in Middleton deserve better and will do my best to bring about change and achieve our goals of a cleaner environment, safer streets and more youth activities.

I support the local Liberal Democrat policy of more power for Middleton and less for Rochdale.
